Drawing from stylistic influences as varied as they are numerous, Mowgli has synthesized these elements into one sound and thrilled audiences of all kinds. Unwilling (or unable) to tread a single path, Mowgli challenges your expectations of a typical pop-rock band by unifying all of these influences. The songs run the gamut from danceable rock to piano pop beneath bubbling synths to soaring orchestral epics to moody pulses with angular hooks. Regardless of how you categorize it, Mowgli's melodic music is always tempered with pop sensibilities that make it both memorable and accessible. Their musical versatility, tight and energetic live shows, and fun-loving manner will leave you in breathless anticipation of the next show. Here's what others have said about them:

“Mowgli is a band that tends to blur the boundaries of song style. Vocalist Anthony Watkins' soothing but sturdy voice enhances absurdly catchy keyboard progressions in tracks like ‘Prodigal Song,' yet in other, more placid material, like ‘Velvet,' the band takes it down a notch, as simple but effective guitar melodies provide the backdrop for Watkins to again astound listeners with his rich sound and passionate lyrics. The band's presence is palpable in each track, and on the stage, this doesn't change: when Mowgli plays, you can't help but perk your ears up and listen.”
- Bennett Campbell of the Daily Tar Heel

“Mowgli leavens anthemic post-punk with spot-on neo-soul...”
- Brian Howe of Pitchfork Media and Independent Weekly

"Mowgli has found that happy place between catchy melodies and intriguing rock...their indie-rock image and sound make them stand out from other young bands. When you see them live, you know they've got something powerful to offer."
- Colin Tierney, head of Smalltown Records (Durham, NC)
