Product Manager — Durham, North Carolina

You will manage killer software products for musicians. Needs to be comfortable dealing with a fast-paced, performance-driven startup, and be able to manage priorities effectively. You will work closely with other Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers. You understand that data-driven product design is a beautiful way to design products.This position reports directly to the VP of Product.

Required
  • • Manages/develops new products and maintains existing products
  • • Conducts day-to-day status updates with our product team and development team
  • • Reports on product performance to senior staff
  • • Defines and manages KPIs for all aspects of your product
  • • Collaborate with other designers and product managers to come up with visual designs that solve problems.
  • • Overseas QA of all products and services that are released to the site
  • • Coordinates integration projects with external partners
  • • Research competitors and best practices
  • • Ability to crank out work (headphones) as well communicate with others (meetings)
Not Required, but a huge plus
  • • Solid intuition of best practices and tools used in user-centered interaction design
  • • Any experience wire-framing with omnigraffle, illustrator or similar tool
Experience
  • • 5+ years experience in the web technology field.
  • • Bachelors degree required, MBA or similar master degree in related field a big plus.
  • • Should have familiarity with technical aspects of web development, any hands on HTML / CSS experience is a big plus.
Compensation
  • • Salary dependent on skills and experience (may include equity), company-paid health insurance (100% of premium).

Product Designer — Durham, North Carolina

As a Product Designer you will design badass products for musicians. You will design enhancements for current products, and work on Greenfield development for the next generation of artist tools. You will be in love with wire framing. If marriage between humans and software were legal you would marry Omnigraffle. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers. You understand that data-driven product design is a beautiful way to design products.

Responsibilities
  • • Translate business conversations into concepts and elegant user experience design
  • • Create wireframes of new products and modifications to existing products
  • • Get into photoshop when more detail is required
  • • Collaborate with other designers and product managers to come up with visual designs that solve problems.
  • • Digest business problems and synthesize results into visual solutions
  • • Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, and specifications
  • • Visualize complex sets of data in ways that are easy to comprehend
Requirements
  • • Ability to think at a high level about product design, you are solving a business problem with an interface, not making a button look pretty.
  • • Fluid ability to design in Photoshop, OmniGraffle, and Illustrator
  • • Solid intuition of best practices and tools used in user-centered interaction design
  • • Ability to crank out work (headphones) as well communicate with others (meetings)
  • • Strong visual design skills, including an eye for good typography, composition, and use of color
  • • Strong portfolio of interaction design work
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you should be able to clearly articulate your design decisions
  • • 5+ years experience in related field like web/tech/mobile/design
  • • Bachelors degree required, Masters in related field a big plus

  • • Experience working on music driven applications, or working with musicians themselves is a bonus

Dev/Ops Engineer— Durham, North Carolina

Sometimes an issue or new functionality lies at the crossroad of the code, the persistent store, and the environment. Job Requirements
  • • 3 or more years experience
  • • Linux system administration or very strong Unix skills
  • • High proficiency with SQL
  • • Ruby experience is a big plus, OO programming experience is required
  • • Knowledge of Chef, Capistrano, Redis/Resque, Sphinx, Memcache, and similar technologies helps

QA Engineer — Durham, North Carolina

We're looking for a QA engineer to join the ReverbNation team. You'll work alongside with the developers, support personnel, and product managers to ensure we are doing our best. Our website serves over 2 million confirmed accounts, and getting each operating system and browser the attention it needs is a non-trivial task that this position will look to conquer. This is a technical position and not for the feint of heart.

You definitely should...

  • • Have experience testing web applications, preferably public applications
  • • Be comfortable with the browser development tools and firebug
  • • Be good at finding the edge cases before our music community finds them
  • • Have a passion for quality and enough confidence to make a stink if something stinks
  • • Be able to take a fuzzy report of a potential bug and narrow it down to a minimal description of a reproducible scenario
  • • Have the people skills to play nice with development and product team to properly spec test cases
  • • Have experience authoring and maintaining test scripts with test automation frameworks on both the GUI and backend side
  • • Understand the tradeoffs between test maintainability and test completeness
  • • Be able to report on software quality results and verify corrected defects
